Honorable A. David Mazzone
U.S. District Court
J.W. McCormick Post Office and Court House
Boston,MA 02203

Dear Judge Mazzone,

Having worked for the past several months to resolve tbe ongoing dispute between John and Rhetta Sweeney of Hamilton and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. I truly appreciate your ongoing work to mediate this dispute and bring about a resolution. I continue to believe that mediation represents the best option for resolving this matter.

Accordingly, I am writing today with two purposes. The tint is a simple offer to assist in any way possible your efforts to facilitate a settlement between the parties. Since this matter has a tremendous impact on my constituents and has already caused the expenditure of
substantial federal resources which have not yielded closure, I am eager to see it brought to closure.

In addition, I am writing to request that you carefully review the many instances of impropriety by state and federal officials which the Sweeney's have alleged. If proven, they would constitute serious breaches of law and ethics which, in my opinion, should not go with out legal consequence.

You may be aware that information has been presented by the Sweeney's has led Senator Robert Hedlund; Representative Forrester Clark and myself to seek an inquiry from the Massachusetts Senate's Committee on Post Audit and Oversight. In turn, Committee Chairwoman Cheryl Jacques has requested an investigation of this 'matter from the General Accounting Office.

From my review it appears that many of the improper acts alleged by the Sweeney's have not been reviewed fully by any federal court. Given the fact that nearly all legal avenues to bring this information before a court have been exhausted unsuccessfully, the present mediation appears to be the only forum by which these serious allegations may be considered.

Accordingly, I hope that you will continue to work toward a fair and expeditious settlement of this troublesome matter. Once again, I offer you my full support aid assistance in any way.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

        Sincerely

            Bruce Tarr
            State Senator
